The Obesity Epidemic

The obesity epidemic is becoming a significant problem for society today. Obesity underpins many different medical conditions and is the main risk factor for many problems. Obesity is the main risk factor for diabetes and one of the key factors for osteoarthritis. The costs of this epidemic is places significant strain on the health budget and not to mentions the costs in terms of health care costs and social costs to the individual. Fitness and the fitness message plays a major role in dealing with the obesity epidemic and this public health message needs to be spread at every opportunity that presents itself. Unless something is done to arrest or reverse this obesity epidemic, the burden of the costs associated it are major. All health professionals need to be presented the obesity prevention message.
